I was born and raised on a ranch in southern Alberta. I currently own and operate my own feedlot and ranch along with my wife Jo and our two children. I started riding horses when I was 3 and have been riding ever since. I attended my first Ray Hunt clinic in 1981 and became an avid student, attending Ray's clinics whenever I could. I was invited by Ray and Caroline to help with their horse sale at the 6666 in 1998 I was very honored to be invited by the Hunts to the Tom Dorrance benefit clinic in Fort Worth and then again to Ray's benefit in 2010. I have been most fortunate to live not too far from Sid Cook who has also been a big help in my quest to be a better horseman.
I enjoy competing in ranch rodeos which included the world championships in Amarillo in 2003. For the past 7 years our ranch has been competing in the Heritage Ranch Rodeo in Edmonton. Our community has put on a weekly local rodeo for the past 30 years of which I have competed in most events and still enjoy working as a pick-up man in the rodeo arena.
I enjoy most sports and am still actively involved in ice hockey and waterskiing.
